Dynamite Machine Gun. Only a Dream?

Ok, someone help me here because I can’t remember if this was just a dream or the best gun ever in a game. I remember switching modes on a weapon and suddenly firing lit sticks of dynamite at machine gun speeds. Just a dream, or an epiphany of how far designers will go in years to come? It’s right up there with Johnny’s Xtreme Adventure.
