Dood! You didn’t see that years ago when it first surfaced? It was right when Guitar Hero was taking off. Or maybe Guitar Hero 2 or 3. I think that group just specializes in fantasy game concepts.

  • There is no way I could handle a Weird Al game, however my dream game is also a music game.

I would love to see a Phish-based or jam-band based music game. I already have one of the Grateful Dead track packs for RB, and will be getting the second one when it comes out (or soon if it is already out).

The nice thing about jam bands is there is a huge range of styles inside the genre. Dead and Phish are jazz based, moe. is an Alternative-rock jam band, there are creole jam bands, southern rock jam bands, etc.

    It would be awesome.

Interesting. Got any recommendations to start with? I don’t know that I’d be too into it but any musical genre that diverse piques my interest.

      • I would suggest looking through db.etree.org. They keep a database of just about every “taper friendly” band and the shows available.

http://db.etree.org/bs.php lists the most popular searches. Like I mentioned above, moe. is more of a alt rock jam band. String Cheese Incident and Yonder Mountain String Band are bluegrass-y. Anything listed in bold on the site is available on the Live Music Archive, which should allow you to stream the files. That would give you a starting point.

Once my computer is back from getting repaired, I’ll try to put together a jamband primer.

That’d be awesome! Thanks. I’ll take a look at that site.
