GameLuv Loving Again!?!

Oh hey there you guys! It’s… been a while. Somewhere around December 1st something happened with our prior hosting service and all our sites (FoodLuv.net and Stuff.GameLuv.com included) went down. They were tolerably quick at fixing problems in the past but this time it persisted for weeks, and with no response from our numerous attempts to contact them.

Katy ditched the old hosting for a new group just before Christmas and we set out to see what we could salvage. All the files (the themes, icons, and images for posts) were still in tact but as you can see if you look below this post, the database was unrecoverable. The last time Backupify was functioning and archiving was July of 2010. That backup didn’t like being shoved into a new server and forced to fit in the blank mold of a new WordPress install and so it’s taken us this long to get everything running again. I am now a Novice at using phpMyAdmin and SQL databases.

We’re waiting to hear back from the new hosting service about backing up this database before going forward with anything so give us just a little bit more time and, who knows, we might actually be up and running for the rest of 2011!
