By way of Joystiq, word from Famitsu magazine has it that Pac-Man creator, Toru Iwatani, recently left Namco Bandai after 30 years in order to teach the art of game development.
“Right now, the state of career training in the Japanese games industry is on the verge of crisis. Japan is far behind in the field of game education compared with the US, Europe, Korea, and China.”
It’s about time some of the industry’s founding fathers shared their wisdom and insight without putting it in pretentious book form and charging $45 a copy.
