Freedom of choice be damned! Ou ~ En ~ Dannnnn!

Ouendan

As much as I love having the ability to turn any song I may have ever heard into a rudimentary game with offerings like AudioSurf, Beats, and Phase, there is nothing as powerful as having iNiS do all the work for me. I was just browsing around and Sambomaster’s Sekai wa Sore o Ai to Yobundaze popped on. This is the final song in Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 and it brings me to tears of joy almost every time I hear it.

That’s what’s so great about iNiS’ games, they have an uncanny ability to couple just the right songs with just the right stories to tap into my emotional core. Be it the loser-turns-hero tale, the guy-meets-girl archetype, or the stereotypical only-you-can-stop-this-calamity-with-music story that permeates iNiS’ games. I gladly relinquish all freedom over what songs I hear when these guys offer up a new game and continue to breathlessly wait for their next title.

As I’ve been playing Beats over the last few weeks I’ve felt this tug on my musical heartstrings to go back to Ouendan 2 and I think hearing this song has pushed me over the edge. I’ve got a dozen new DS games to play and all I wanna do is revisit the stages in Ouendan 2 that I’ve finished a hundred times before. Freedom of choice be damned! Ou ~ En ~ Dannnnn!
