Shawn and Katy were friends first and fell in love later. Katy was at Shawn’s old job gushing over a video he had playing of Animal Crossing Wild World before the Nintendo DS was even out. They met again online and then again in real life. In 2006 they moved in together and slowly combined lives and video game collections and soon after GameLuv was born.
In 2008 they invited some close personal friends to join them in blogging about games. Despite years of regaining health by eating meat in games, Shawn and Katy chose to go vegetarian in June of 2008 and spun off a blog to write about their experiences with a new lifestyle; FoodLuv.

I’ve been gaming for about 2.5 decades now and it’s getting harder and harder to please me. I’m not a big competitive player, I’m not even sure I’ve ever really pwnd anyone in a game. I enjoy teamwork like in a good old game of Tribes or Unreal Tournament 2004 but mostly stick to single player stuff and mostly on consoles since my PC performance peaked in 2004.
I tend to search for quirky little games to latch onto. Disaster Report, City Crisis, Urban Chaos. To name the immediate few that come to mind. Despite my curmudgeonly attitude I still play a lot of games and enjoy the following archetypes: driving, music, adventure. But not RPGs! Forty hours of gameplay may well take me a lifetime and I’d rather have a number of giddy, visceral experiences in that time. Sorry.

I started gaming by going to the tiny arcade (4 games in the back of an Acropolis chili restaurant) with whatever quarters I could gather. That would be a little over 20 years then! Next I begged for years for an Atari and my brother and I were given an Atari 7800 when everyone else we knew was getting a NES. That’s ok they gave us all their old games! I’ve played games ever since! I’m above what’s considered a casual gamer, but I can live if I just can’t get every achievement in something. I play pogo.com games, console games, pc games and handheld games. I usually get pissed off trying to play online games with people I don’t know because they are often rude and/or dumb.
