Let’s Talk About “This Digital Life” with Fwends [Episode 001]

Age-old friend Rob and I haven’t recorded much together since the days of NfamousGamers back in 2009. The site is long gone now but our five episodes remain online, as does Rob’s guest spot on an early GameLuv PodShot episode.

That’s not to say we haven’t kept in touch. Across town and across the country we IM and chat pretty regularly but just finally decided to sync up in real-time to record a new (hopefully weekly) show. Based on Rob’s “Let’s Talk About it” videos, the new show will focus on a single topic each episode, frequently about gaming but anything is up for discussion.

Right now you can find it on either of our YouTube channels (mine | his) but I’m going to get it up on the podcast circuit so you can subscribe wherever you listen to shows. But for now, here’s Episode 001: This Digital Life where we try to wrangle the entirety of digital media – games, movies, and music (oh yeah, and print too!) – and how the move away from physical goods sits with each of us.

Leave a comment wherever you hear the show and let us know what you think or what you’d like to hear us talk about next.

The GameLuv Show loves Korean Stuff

It’s the KLuv show this week: Korean pop, Korean dramas (and how they differ from Japanese dramas), Eat Your Kimchi… oh and then there’s some game talk in there too! Dana (and her mom) played some 3DS and went to the Nintendo World Store, Katy bought Plants vs. Zombies again and continues to love Dynasty Warriors 7. Meanwhile, I played through Portal 2… but can’t say anything about it.

The GameLuv Show #78: You, Me and the ESRB #2

You, Me and the ESRB (patent pending). Like little bullets in your head that you can shoot your friend with in the face (patent pending).

Find out what’s really going on with Captain America, PowerUp Heroes, old Atari properties, MLB Bobbleheads, topless MMA cokeheads, Garbage Truck simulators and more in this week’s dramatic reading of the ESRB’s latest game rating summary submissions! Shutin’ down with Sneaky Sound System’s ‘When We were Young‘.

The GameLuv Show gets ‘Back in the ESRB’

It’s a fairly dull time for games here in early Spring. Katy’s got her Dynasty Warriors 7, I’ve got Fallout: New Vegas, Dana has Wizard 101, and Maxx is engulfed in RIFT when he’s not working crazy hours. So there wasn’t a whole lot to talk about this week but I wanted to do something for you all. And that something became a fairly Nintendownload-esque reading of this past week’s ESRB rating submissions.

I explain myself in this 40 minute short-show, discover some intriguing new games I didn’t know about, and wrap it up with a freakin’ awesome jazz rendition of the Phoenix Wright theme. I realize having just typed that sentence that you might think I performed it myself, live on the air. I really just stuck an mp3 from this album on the end. Still, it’s so good!

The GameLuv Show farts the goat for casual Friday

SCIENCE TIME FOOLS!! The Casual Friday of video game podcasts is back and visited by good friend, Eugene, who’s traveled back from his 200+ hour adventure with Monster Hunter Tri to talk about, well, Monster Hunter Tri! Maxx is wrapped up with work but Katy, Dana, Eugene and I hit the latest Kinect game, a bunch of Adventure games and get caught up on this fart goat thing. Also this stuff:

And Super Junior takes us home with the apologetic ‘Sorry Sorry’
