You should check out Boma, in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food there is amazing.

I remember a few vegetarian options. If they have the carrot-ginger soup, make sure you get it.

Also, if you find some dishes you really like, ask for the recipe. They usually have them printed on cards. When my wife and I went, they didn't have anything printed on the dishes we wanted, so the chef took our email address and sent the info to us.

Have you tried SparkPeople.com to aid in your weight loss quest? It's a very helpful site and it's FREE! You can track calories and cardio on your own, or you can opt to let them design a program for you to follow. When I first joined I let them design my program and after I'd been at it for awhile I started choosing my own meals and what not. They do programs especially for vegetarians and vegans too.

I cannot recommend the site highly enough. You'll get out of it what you put into it, of course, but it's a great guideline and they give you all the tools to lose the weight and get fit and healthy. The rest is up to you. :)

I'm with you lot, the thickness and mucous generating power of real egg nog is too much. This soy stuff has the flavor and a much more enjoyable texture.

I was never much of a fan of deli slices to begin with but that roast turkey tasted great. At least, when combined with mayo, lettuce, cheese, and a wrap. I don't think I'll be popping soy turkey slices by themselves but they are part of a quick and tasty new meal!

Love soy nog! I usually get Silk's. I love the flavor of nog but I'm not so fond of the super thick texture and loads of calorie. Yum! I think they do a peppermint chocolate soy milk too-- I don't remember if it was Silk or Vitasoy. Totally yummy in coffee.

I enjoy Tofurkey, but only this once a year. I rarely eat faux meat products with the exception of Morningstar's sausage patties (because they are delicious oh god i love them -- they're also really great in sausage balls, and even carnivores are confused when I reveal that they are in fact meat-free). I think that it's actually really easy to survive the holiday feasts as a vegetarian, but you do sometimes end up filling up on sides, most of which tend to be vegetarian by chance.

Tofurky specifically is pretty bland in nature, but I do enjoy have a big chewy hunk of pure protein on my plate. They beg for creative preparation and marinades, though. On the other hand, the wild rice stuffing in the middle is really, really good.

We just tried the Quorn chicken (like) chunks in a lettuce wrap recipe. It's very chickeny! Maybe we will try that. I want to buy one we can take with us to the meal.

It's frustrating, this whole weight loss thing. Best advice I have is to keep at it, and you'll see the results. Don't be surprised when other people notice before you do.

Have you tried the Quorn Turk'y Roast? It's actually quite good, just be careful not to overcook it as it can get dry

It is sad and annoying and frustrating but this country is one big brainwashed hivemind. When faced with these adversities I feel a little better knowing that we're among the few to see beyond the media and not go along with whatever is presented in front of us.

I hear ya! Since my girlfriend is a vegetarian, and I'm leaning more that way, I'm becoming very aware of how much meat is in everything! Even vegetable soups have a meat stock.

I'm glad there are true vegetarian restaurant options out there, like Ambar and Thai Taste
