Beats: Pilot Scott Tracy’s Angel of Death

I’ll just say that this song in particular is awesomely 80’s, what I’d call synth-rock, and let you decide if you want to check it out. A little more from the band’s own record label bio: “Pilot Scott Tracy is a brainchild of Scott and Tracy Cox-Stanton, formerly of the Causey Way. It is a flight of fantasy based on the good old days of air travel when stewardesses coddled you with free beverages and fluffed pillows. Their music, described by one critic as “aggressively homo,” is sometimes raw, sometimes pretty, sometimes serious, sometimes silly, a delicious collision of early punk and new wave.”

Beats is a Sweet Transvestite

You seem like you’re pretty… groovy. So I thought this week I’d go a little bit farther out (too far?) across my musical landscape and share Sweet Transvestite from The Rocky Horror Picture Show as performed by the fantastic Tim Curry. Try it on Extreme for some really good patterns and to hear one of the longest delayed syllables in the history of the spoken word.

Beats Finally Coming to Japanese PSP

It doesn’t seem like it’d take more than a few lines of code and a price conversion to get the PSP’s Beats up on the Japanese PlayStation Store, but the process has apparently taken about six months. Known as Ascension Beat, the personalized rhythm game will make its Japanese debut on June 19th for about $8. Doesn’t look like any new features have been added, but maybe a whole new market of gamers will happen upon my Beats Go On feaure.

Beats: Robbie Williams’ Good Doctor

Here’s a cheeky little track from Euro pop star Robbie Williams. I’ve really enjoyed his Rudebox album and the fact that as big a star as he is he still has a lot of just plain odd songs. Good Doctor is definitely one of those, an upbeat number about being addicted to prescription drugs complete with a drug name rollcall. It makes for some interesting patterns in the game.
