[‘o] More Things I Do For Gaming: Sneak King

Once again a gaming promotion has dragged me back to the sordid world of fast food. This morning I survived a gurgling stomach ache just to spend a total of $7 for a Burger King Croissanwich meal and Sneak King.

The game is sorta like a cracked out Metal Gear or Splinter Cell with mindless humans sporting ‘cones of vision’ and picking up on your hefty footfalls as you run up behind them. Hide in various places or just sneak up on someone and wait ’til they’re good and starved, then jump out and perform a Flourish maneuver which nets you more points. There are four stages with 20 challenges each and some ridiculous Achievements.

The camera system is reversed from my preference so it’s constantly nagging me and it’s tough to get your bearings after a successful Flourish which sometimes leads to an unwanted sighting, but mostly it’s fun in short spurts. With little music and no convoluted story it makes for a perfect chance to create or get to know your custom soundtracks. I also found it much more entertaining to watch The King sneak around to Luigi’s Mansion music and tracks from Ouendan.

So far so good, but with my average scores topping out at a C and the final Achievement to get straight A’s in all 80 challenges, I’m afraid this is yet another game which I will never fully complete. *sigh*
