Game Music Composers Reimagine the Classics
Fans of game music have been remixing and revisiting their favorite themes for years, having come into popularity thanks to sites like YouTube. But what’s interesting about GameMusicCentral’s upcoming ‘Best of the Best‘ album is that it features classic themes as envisioned by other game music composers.
Ever wonder how Chrono Trigger would sound had Gerard Marino, of God of War fame, composed it? How about Super Metroid as interpreted by Will Loconto who recently scored Rayman: Raving Rabbids? What would the Zelda theme sound like if it were in World of Warcraft? Honestly, those are the most interesting mash-ups but the album promises plenty of criss-crossing musical styles.
