Video Game Fitness
Gren and I lost much weight a couple years ago from counting calories and being more active in general. At a point when I had a major life changing event that brought mass stress I stopped counting and gained back 10 – 15 lbs of the 40+ lbs I had lost. Not too bad, but I was feeling the pinch in the waistband and I hate shopping for clothes, so I knew I needed to do something about it (again). So back to counting calories, but this time I started working out with Yourself ! Fitness on the Xbox. Every morning I get up and do a half hour workout of Maya’s choosing (my animated fitness instructor). In total I’ve been working out with Maya for maybe a month and a half and I have visible improvements. I have more muscle definition in my legs and arms. I feel stronger and have better balance too.
We just found Eye Toy Kinetic for the PS2 at a reasonable price, so once Gren gets that hooked up I will mention it here.
Playing tennis, bowling and other games on the Wii have worked other muscles to the point of day long soreness even, but I can’t see that being a real workout in any form.
