No Games for Me… for now
So, this new PC… it’s not for gaming. That Radeon HD is actually integrated on the motherboard and it doesn’t like to run anything fullscreen outside of my monitor’s native resolution of 1440×900. The Crysis demo may have loaded but I couldn’t see a thing since it didn’t jump to that resolution when starting up. Even Ether Saga Online, the new free MMO hotness, went black on fullscreen.
It may be because I have this weird HDMI-to-DVI cable running to the monitor and it’s not sure what to do when I go fullscreen with a game, or it could be the integrated graphics freaking out. I’d like to buy a new monitor and a real video card but my tax money is already low and I’ve got lots of bills to pay from repeated doctor visits. So for now it looks like I’ll be going back even farther than Max Payne 2 and attempting to run Magic Carpet at something under 300 frames per second.
