Name Your Price – Bargain Hunting Easier Than Ever Now
It’s almost as though the Internet can read my mind lately. As soon as I think of something I wish existed, I find out just a day later that it either exists already or someone is working on it. Case in point, the new email notification system implemented on Cheap Ass Gamer.
“Self,” said I. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could be notified when the games I want to buy go on sale? It’s too much effort to check every day for sales for specific titles. Couldn’t the Internet just do that for me?”
CheapyD at CAG must have heard my plea. A new feature was just implemented that allows you to set prices for specific games. As soon as some retailer marks their copy down to that price, you get an email notification. Simple, yet brilliant. There’s no reason now to watch for specific sales or worry about missing a great offer.
To use the feature, all you have to do is search for a game, go to its respective page on the site, then click “Receive Email Alerts” just above the retail price listings. You then set your price and wait for the notification. You can try it out for yourself, or watch a video by CheapyD demonstrating how it works.
