Gaming Lately

I wish I were better about getting a complete, concise opinion of a game the way Gren is, but I’m not. I just go for a while playing various things then make one post rambling about it all in snippets.

My laptop situation hasn’t changed. Meaning, I haven’t done anything. Not sure I do anything with it really. I am thinking maybe sometime next year I may buy myself a really nice one, give this one to my Mom who doesn’t have a computer at all, and finally get rid of my desktop too. I like the laptop being portable, I don’t want to sit at a desktop anymore.

Last I posted I mentioned that we got Gamefly. I played Two Worlds for a bit, which I did like. Kill wolves & bandits, level up, get better armor – repeat. I don’t mind that sometimes. It was a little crunchy on the loading though and I was sad I had to play as a man, no choice.

I sent Two Worlds back and borrowed a copy of it from a friend so a game could come that Gren had queued. After a few days I reported that I had returned it yet it had not cleared our queue. This caused two games to be sent even though we were on the one game plan at the time. The two games were both my picks again even though Gren had multiple games at the top of the queue. I guess his choices are more popular. Samurai Warriors 2 & Samurai Warriors 2 Empires both for Xbox 360 were what arrived. I am a huge Dynasty Warriors fan, so I want to like SW also, but it’s just not quite right. I think it matters which you played first, and I played DW first.

I played SW2 for a week or so, got through a few character’s stories, unlocked some characters. I could keep playing for several more weeks, but I wanted something to come for Gren so I sent it back and started SW2 Empires. They didn’t send anything new like I hoped since we should only have one at a time anyway. I upgraded the account to two at a time the other day and let Gren use two of the free game coupons for blockbuster. I do like SW2 Empires, it will do until another DW game comes out.

Also playing The Sims 2 Castway on Nintendo DS. It’s really a lot of fun! You can craft or trade items you find — like — leaves, twigs, and bugs. You meet other people who you need to help to get items to expand where you can travel on the island. It makes me wonder what the console and PC versions are like.

And now I’m going back to take over Japan; one fief at a time (in Samurai Warriors 2)!
