Until the End of Time Itself, There will be Puyo Puyo

Just a note from Sega today proclaiming that when the endtimes arrive and you are waiting to be judged for your eternal penance there will still be new Puyo games to play. You don’t have to wait for eternity though, as Sega will be releasing new versions of Puyo Puyo for the Wii, DS, PlayStation 2, and PSP in Japan in June.

As you can see in the Wii screenshot above the enhancements will be minor and the gameplay will remain entirely the same. The Wii will feature lame waggle flourishes, the DS will have touchy controls and the PS2 will be a port of the slick-widescreen-presentation-but-crusty-old-gameplay PSP version. No U.S. release was announced but you just know it’s coming sooner or later.
