Fly and Fry French Fries on the Wii
Alright, I was kinda on the fence about MiniCopter: Adventure Flight for the Wii until I saw these latest screenshots in which your task is to use a Suction Cup to pick up fresh cut french fries and transport them to a deep fryer. Using keen strategy to make sure you don’t run out of battery power as the fries turn crispy and golden is only a part of what MiniCopter: Adventure Flight has to offer.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t look so hot (deinterlacing screenshots aren’t gonna win over many people these days) and it looks like a lot of the Challenges involve much less delicious tasks like landing with accuracy and flying through hoops. Also, real R/C copters are flown with two control sticks in a layout similar to most of our modern game controllers, not with waggle-happy motion sensing sticks. Luckily, the developers have chosen to include Classic Controller support for a more traditional experience. Too bad it requires that additional $20 purchase to enjoy.
Despite its shortcomings I’m still fascinated by what wackiness the game’s 42 missions promise, the ability to superficially customize your vehicle with body kits, and the search for “hidden areas and coins”. What would we do without hundreds of shiny things to collect? MiniCopter: Adventure Flight should hit stores next week. I’ll queue it up on GameFly but with Grand Theft Auto IV looming closer I doubt I’ll partake in any flying, frying adventure for a few months.
