Zenses: Peaceful Gaming for the Female DS Crowd

I have to say, I was much more intrigued by Zenses before I saw the screenshots. Both titles (Zenses: Ocean and Rain Forest) promise an “escape from the stress of daily life while challenging the mind, body and spirit through relaxing puzzle games, soothing ambient sounds and authentic rainforest and oceanic visuals.” So far it looks like a collection of six puzzle game knock-offs despite The Game Factory’s claims to have spent “a lot of time analyzing the motivations and requirements of female casual players.”

What’s nice is their confidence in the game’s unique soundtrack. Each of the games’ 7-8 ambient songs will be available for free download online. From what we’ve seen the game also looks slick with nice oceanic sights and sharp artwork.

Will Zenses bring a new wave of casual players to the DS like Brain Age did in 2006 or will it be glanced over as just another puzzle game collection? Hopefully there’s more to it than what’s in this first batch of images, but there’s plenty of time until the October release to find out more.
