E3: Two More for DS: Marker Man & Touchmaster 2
Marker Man should be pretty self explanatory for anyone keeping up with us here at GameLuv. Maxx and I have both posted repeatedly about these online physics drawing diversions, only now Majesco is taking a chance by releasing one as a $20 retail product. The big advancements include scrolling stages, hidden worlds, and themed landscapes… if you can honestly refer to that crudely drawn tree as a landscape. There’s also a sandbox mode to mess around with your very own Marker Man in, three difficulties, and a promised 150+ stages. Marker Man is currently scheduled for a Q1 2009 release.
I am a big fan of Touchmaster on the DS. All of the games have been highly tuned to be playable by drunk bums sitting on bar stools at the flashy video box, and it shows. Each one, although lacking the visual appeal of Mario or Sonic, is fun in its own right and the very definition of ‘pick up and play’ gameplay. So you can imagine how I might get excited seeing a word puzzle all dolled up with Rampage artwork.
More than just a slick coat of paint, Touchmaster 2 will include 20 new games (including a whole game of billiards) as well as updated favorites from the original and a new Wizard Points system to unlock platinum trophies. Oooh, meaningless rewards! Midway has Touchmaster 2 ready for release in November, and I have a video after the cut.
