Video Games Live Hits Billboard Charts!
It’s something I’ve always dreamt about seeing, a video game soundtrack on the U.S. Billboard charts. To this day I still pour over the music selections at stores in hopes of finding a game soundtrack and I always get a little giddy when I spot one. So to see Video Games Live: Volume One debut at Number Ten on the charts really turns this jaded old heart a little mushy.
But I’m still not gonna buy it. Sorry Tommy. Of all the pieces they’ve ever performed at all their shows they somehow managed to compile 80% of the ones I don’t like for this disc. I really don’t agree with stuff like Medal of Honor and Halo as they were originally orchestrated to begin with. A different orchestra is performing them, big whoop! If their fantastic Sonic the Hedgehog medley or Martin Leung’s classic game themes were included I’d be all over it, but I’m just not excited about God of War, Myst or Warcraft.
