The GameLuv Show goes from PAX to Zombie China

Auritech stops by, fresh from PAX, to tell us about the show and a whole, whole bunch of games he saw and played. Dana tells the tale of a cataclysmic pre-Cataclysm World of Warcraft experience. Everybody but me noshes on the addictive brains of Plants vs. Zombies for both the iPad and Xbox Live Arcade and I am still playing Nier! Here’s a slightly more complete rundown:

  • PAX roundup: Bangai-O HD, Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, F3AR, Torchlight 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum
  • Plants vs. Zombies
  • World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online
  • Nier
  • Dead Rising: Case Zero
  • Pac-Man C.E.
  • Sega Superstars Tennis
  • Treasure Treasure: Fortress Forage extra edition

You seriously can’t stop The GameLuv Show

Time Warner tried to stop us. Electricity tried to stop us. 0kb files tried to stop us. But they couldn’t! We rise again this week to talk about Japanese developers and how their game is changing (or not, depending on how you feel about Nier), some zombie dismemberment, a few new Big Fish games, and news of the week!

The GameLuv Show exists, somewhere

So the thing is, we recorded a really good show for you all this week. It had 3D. It had HD. It even had a great cameo by our cat, Molly. But for some reason MP3 Skype Recorder ate it and left us with nothing but a deceiving file of 0 kb. With no desire to repeat ourselves for another two hours and fail at recapturing the magic, we resigned to kick our feet at the ground, shove our hands in our pockets and skulk away.

We’re really sorry and hopefully we can iron this out for next week. In the meantime, ummm, maybe you can catch up on an old episode?

The Internet can’t stop The GameLuv Show!

We’re back after an unexpected week of “roughing it” without internet access! But not even Time Warner Cable can quiet our voices and we prove it with this lengthy discussion about Scott Pilgrim, Instant Jam, Mafia 2, Frontierville, Persona 3 and more with unscheduled departures into Harvest Moon madness and iOS games. Here’s the tenuously threaded blow-by-blow:
  • Burn Zombie Burn (Steam)
  • Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game (with special guest star: Phil!!)
  • Persona 3 Portable
  • Instant Jam on Facebook
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility and a whole discussion of the series
  • Endless Ocean: Blue World and the Classic Controller Pro
  • Frontierville
  • Market Street
  • Starcraft 2
  • Mafia 2 demo
  • GeoDefense and Cobra Command on the App Store
  • News of the Week!

The GameLuv Show gets Tangential

We’re kids of the modern age, we don’t have focus or attention spans anymore! It’s one-thing-leads-to-another on this week’s episode of The GameLuv Show as we meander from Veronica Mars to broccolini, the glory days and future of print media to Canada all the while talking about these things:

The GameLuv Show Loves Orbs and Steam, Hates Battle.NET

The whole crew is back this week in tip-top form! Maxx kicks it off with his souring experience with OnLive (he bought Borderlands for PC), Katy and I fantasize about Agent sex in Crackdown 2, and Dana fills us in on Blizzard’s unsettling Real ID/Battle.NET mess. Oh, and we all flipped out over that Steam summer sale and detail a bunch of games we bought that we probably won’t ever finish! All that and all this too!

The GameLuv Show has Post-E3-itis

E3 sucked all the air out of the room and even though we don’t usually talk news on the show we’re still feeling its effects. Done with the Crackdown 2 demo and with Red Dead Redemption’s fantastic endgame still in spoiler territory there wasn’t a lot to talk about this week. Maxx is out sick, I’m still not feeling so great and the only thing new-new-new is LEGO Harry Potter. So we kept it short and sweet this week and even had a couple listener questions to answer! Would you like your queries addressed as well? E-mail us already (see below)! In the meantime, listen to this week’s episode!

  • Crackdown 2 demo: final thoughts
  • The Sims 2: Castaway on Wii
  • LEGO Harry Potter
  • My experience with OnLive
  • Red Dead Redemption: the spoiler-free stuff
  • Nier Gestalt demo
  • iPad: ZenBound 2, eBoy FixPix
