My Wii U excitement level in list form
Of all the stuff I could say about the Wii U that we learned today, the most telling for me is this list of “launch window” software which covers nearly the first six months of the platform’s existence. Never, has a list of games been so long and had so little to entice me. I could edit this and then post it but I’m going to go down this list right now and embolden the games I’d honestly buy if I had a Wii U and see what it looks like by the end.

Yup, that’s about what I thought. If it’s not a port that I could have played on a console I already own, it’s something unappealing. The emphasis on online and entertainment features does have me hopeful that Nintendo will do more to nurture the eShop this time around. Still, I’m not expecting anything stupendously original on that service for at least the first year and surely not enough to bring me to buy the console. For now I’ll continue to teeter awkwardly on this pointy fence.
