‘Your First Step to Wii’ More Important than Wii Sports?
When it comes to understanding the Wii concept by way of actually playing it, we’re starting to see that Wii Sports may not be enough. While Zelda won over the skeptic in that linked article, it could be something like Your First Step to Wii that helps reel in wary consumers. But will it make it stateside?
The newly announced package includes a WiiWand and Nunchuck as well as a disc containing several stylish new minigames. A Duck Hunt-esque target shoot, Ping Pong, Billiards, and Fishing are just a few that I can make out from this untranslated page. The ones that need no translation look like a new-style neon Pong and Combat from the old Atari days.
The minigames use the WiiWand in several different ways to ensure players are familiar with the hardware before diving into something as complex as, say, Zelda. And since Your First Step to Wii is bundled with an extra WiiWand/Nunchuck you’re all set for two-player shenanigans without feeling quite so ripped off at the outrageous controller price. I just hope Nintendo’s snapping with the translation and gets it stateside before year’s end.
