[‘o] Tycoon Games Are Done!
Ok ok, Railroad Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon were fine. They were both exemplary simulation games; one bringing to life the dreams of railroad enthusiasts and the other one for everyone else. But since their rampant PC success over the last fifteen years publishers have gone way, way, WAY too far in hopes of capturing the Tycoon fever.
A quick GameFAQs search returns three pages of Tycoon games with lowlights including Hell Tycoon, Prison Tycoon, Moon Tycoon, Trailer Park Tycoon, and — ya know, just look at ’em all!
The latest find of ours was at a local Big Lots which has to be the de facto dead end for games:
But no matter what comes after, I think this next one is the end of the line for Tycoon games…
