Ouendan Shreds My Stylus
Having finally adjusted to the ridiculous speed of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan’s Insane Mode I reached the last stage. It’s L’arc~en~Ciel’s Ready Steady Go played out as the Ouendan team riles up the spirits of all mankind to stop a giant asteroid! Towards the end there’s a series of “spins” where you have to rotate a wheel with your stylus to survive. Each spin is harder than the last and it finally breaks back into a really fast, hard chorus.
So naturally I failed… a lot. After swearing under my breath in the breakroom at work and restarting the stage I noticed some dirt on my touch screen. Looking a little closer I realized it wasn’t dirt, it was plastic from my stylus. I don’t use the official stylus the DS comes with, I have some fairly generic Fellowes brand PDA styli that over time get whittled to a dangerously sharp point. But never have I rubbed so hard that I chipped the thing apart.
Anyone troubled over the slightest scratch to their DS, be wary of Ouendan! See below just how crazy the last stage is (although this video is of Hard mode which is slower than Insane mode). And check out more on Ouendan and its U.S. counterpart in the little feature I did up last week.
