Welcome to “It Came From The Collection”!

Ya know what there’s a lot of on YouTube? Playthrough videos. Seemingly every game that exists has been played, talked over, torn apart, and remixed with memes and South Park samples. In hopes of recording something a little more unique, I started this video series to chronicle the gaming ephemera I’ve amassed over the years.

I’ve never had a ton of money to spend on games, instead I’d grab all the free stuff I could from stores I visited or worked at. Free flyers and pamphlets, pre-order tchotchkes, toys, posters, discarded game cases, manuals, and all kinds of marketing paperwork. I’ve lost a lot of things over the years (and after moving SIX times) but I still have tons of stuff to talk about and show.

You can check out the playlist above — I even made a fancy trailer! — to watch all the current episodes. By the time this post goes up we’ll be onto Episode 2 so here’s a quick recap:

EPISODE 1: Mystery Cards & Blind Pack Opening
THE AUDIO WILL IMPROVE, I promise! This is the first episode and so it’s a little rough but I didn’t want to re-record after opening the blind card pack! Featured in this episode are Marvel Nemesis pre-order trading cards, and Duel Masters and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that came with some early 2000’s video game releases.

EPISODE 2: Oops, Still more Card Packs!
After last episode I found even more card-shaped things to show off. Monster Rancher 4 and GUN pre-order playing cards, some knock-off Final Fantasy VII cards, and a whole bunch of Pokemon Snap terminal cards. They’re useless nowadays but they’re still so cool!

✨ Thanks for taking a look at my collection. Let me know what you think or if there’s something you’d like a closer look at. I’m totally up for requests. You can also see more of my collection on Instagram. I’ve been posting #RetroCollective pics there since 2013.
