It’s Free! on PlayStation Store for April 11th
It’s April 11th, 2018 and everything is fine! If I say it loud enough and long enough, that makes it true, right? *ahem* Personal life aside, everything is also fine when it comes to freebies on the PlayStation Store this week. There’s another totally free game (with Trophies), some PlayStation Plus goodies, a new demo, and a variety of add-ons. Let’s go! … also everything is Fiiiiiine!
Free Game
The last free game we got was Don’t Bite Me Bro! which turned out to be surprisingly satisfying, so I’m not going to write off Starlit Adventures so quickly. It’s immediately charming with vibrant colors and lots of animated action on screen. It looks a little bit like Mister Driller except you aren’t totally free to dig whatever path you want. The game’s 64 Story levels look to have tricky paths, enemies, and traps for up to four players to tackle. I played it briefly last night and quickly ran up against its paywall. As long as you aren’t dead-set on having the highest scores I don’t think there’s any reason to worry about microtransactions. It’s a quaint little vertical-oriented, puzzle-platformer that seems fun enough.
PlayStation Plus Subscriber Boosts
Paying members of PlayStation Plus can grab another couple of monthly booster packs this week. GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is offering a bundle of 5 Arena Mirror Shards and 5 kegs (25 cards) while 3on3 Freestyle is back with it’s April pack including 1 Random Card Pack, 1 XP Drink (M), and 1 Coin Buff Ball (1D).
Demo
Crypt of the Serpent King looks a little generic. Like, Xbox Live Indie Games generic. In fact, the game escaped that delisted marketplace in 2016 and has made the jump to Steam, Xbox One, and finally PlayStation 4. It isn’t my kind of game but if you were curious about the “medieval first-person hack’n’slash dungeon crawler with roguelike elements”, you can now try it for free.
Add-Ons
You want two new hair styles for Monster Hunter: World? We got it. You want over 900 new songs for Atelier Lydie & Suelle? Holy cow, that’s a lot of songs! How about a BMW X6 Trophy Truck for Gravel? Step right up.
That’s it for this week gang. Grab ‘n go!
