Used game sales with free Online Passes coming from ParcelGamer

Much like Amazon covering the shipping cost to keep you using their service, the upcoming game e-tailer from Game Gavel — ParcelGamer.com — will throw you a free Online Pass code when buying a used game.

“We want to continue using our lower overhead, online business model (when compared to brick-and-mortar chain stores) to benefit our customer base when and wherever possible,” said ParcelGamer CEO, Mike Kennedy. “If we can eat the additional cost of ‘Online Pass’ and still fall within our required margins, then we want to pass this benefit on to our customers.”

It’s a simple, brute force kind of solution to the growing Online Pass trend but as you can tell by the fact that you’re reading this very post, it got my attention. I’d never heard of Game Gavel or Parcel Gamer before this news but I’ll now be watching how this develops as I’m always keen to help chip away at the despicable GameStop empire.
